I can tell already that this trip is going to bring just so many song titles and lyrics together. As we flew into the California dawn above a soft carpet of cloud, Arlo Guthrie’s “Coming into Los Angeles” kept popping into the subconscious, and even Albert Hammond’s “It never rains in southern California” got a run. A quick look at the map and lots of place names from Ben Lee’s “Catch My Disease” jump off the page.
Time to try to get this post trip tiredness at bay and think about getting out amongst it. Before that, though, how about a treat from that syrupy time in the seventies which introduced us to such classics as:
LA International Airport. I’m looking at it from our hotel as I type!
